Techniques and tactics

To catch pike consistently throughout the year, you need to

master and employ a range of techniques. I can show

you how and where to fish at different times of year to get

the best results.

A mirror-calm evening in June may call for a popper in the

lily-fringed margins. A crisp autumn morning may respond

to a 3d streamer with an intermediate line along the drop-

offs. Settled winter conditions may find the pike in

deeper water where they are best targeted with a buoyant,

"bomber" fly on a fast-sinking line.
